Lights Out

Game Overview

Lights Out is a classic electronic puzzle game originally released by Tiger Electronics in 1995. The game consists of a 5×5 grid of lights that can be either on or off.

When you click on any light, it toggles that light AND all four adjacent lights (up, down, left, right). The goal is to turn off all the lights using the fewest moves possible.

The puzzle uses mathematical principles from linear algebra over the field Z₂ (integers modulo 2), making it both challenging and educational. Not all patterns are solvable, but when they are, there can be up to four different solutions.

This digital recreation features multiple difficulty levels, preset patterns, and a beautiful 3D interface that brings the classic puzzle to life with modern web technology.
